Siemens advertises 135 jobs at Alexandra Dock wind turbine facility

Siemens has advertised another 135 positions at its wind turbine production and installation factory at Alexandra Dock – its largest recruitment drive in Hull to date.

The company will hire 120 production operatives, as well as maintenance leads, technicians, goods inward surveyors and a location manager as part of the Green Port project.

Carolyn Woolway, Siemens’ head of human resources for the Hull project, said: “Our recruitment activity is really gathering pace now, as shown by the number of positions we have made available today.

“At the same time as making new positions available we are also working through the recruitment process for previously advertised jobs, with candidates attending assessment centres.

“Opportunities are being made available progressively, with the timing closely aligned to our training plan.”

Siemens and Associated British Ports are investing £310million to create the Alexandra Dock facility. Siemens will employ around 1,000 people at the site, with 800 jobs in the blade factory.

Successful candidates are likely to join Siemens from March 2016, ahead of the scheduled September opening for the blade factory.
