Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a lorry that was stolen in Hull and crashed in South Cave on February 4.

The thief or thieves took the flat-bed vehicle from Drypool service station on Hedon Road at around 11.15pm on Wednesday.

Police were called 24 minutes later after the lorry had crashed through the wall of a garden in South Cave’s Church Street around 16 miles away.

The person or people inside the flat-bed lorry fled the scene after the accident in front of a property in the East Yorkshire village.

Police said that a van was on the back of the lorry at the time and nobody is thought to have been hurt.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing. Officers are asking anyone who saw either the accident or the theft to call 101. Witnesses can quote 2095467 as the reference number for the crime.
