A new fitness session created by ballroom dancers from TV’s Strictly Come Dancing and British swimming star Mark Foster is coming to Hull.

Staged by Hull City Council’s sports development team, FitSteps will combine fitness exercises with ballroom, salsa and Latin dancing.

Weekly sessions will take place at the Eastmount Community Centre in east Hull every Tuesday between 6.15 and 7pm.

The sessions have been devised by former world champion swimmer Foster and Strictly professional dancers Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe.

The council’s sports development officer, Claire Champlin, says the fun sessions are suitable for people of all ages and abilities. She says dance can provide a range of benefits for physical and mental health, adding that the sessions will help to people keep active.

There will be a £2 charge per session and those wishing to take part can just turn up on the evening. More details are available by calling 01482 300 300.
