Val Wood launches brand new book with a bang!

Another year, another novel for best-selling Beverley based author Val Wood who releases her brand new title, Little Girl Lost at a launch ceremony at Waterstones in the city that features heavily throughout her bibliography. Hull and its surroundings play an integral part in all of Val’s books and her latest, set around central locations; Whitefriargate, Parliament Street and Land of Green Ginger is sure to satisfy the expectations her army of loyal readers.

Little Girl Lost tells the tale of Margriet, a lonely Hull-born child whose father travels by sea to the Netherlands, leaving her with an unaffectionate mother and the company of her imaginary friend. When tragedy strikes and her father’s ship goes down in a storm, Margriet is left devastated.

As Margriet reaches womanhood, she forms an unlikely alliance with some street children who live in the town and is Inspired to help them.

Little Girl Lost is the 21st book from the author who rose to fame after winning the prestigious Catherine Cookson prize for her first novel, The Hungry Tide. Val has continued to top the book charts ever since, with both new and reissued titles. Little Girl Lost will launch with a bang, on 5 November at the special event, where the author will meet her readers and sign copies of the book.
