A Hull man who confessed to a tyre-slashing spree in Pocklington has gone missing.

Julian Glew has absconded since he confessed to slashing 190 tyres over three days in the East Yorkshire town.

He did not show up for his October 14 sentencing date before Beverley magistrates and has been untraceable ever since.

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses – especially walkers in the local area who might see someone sleeping rough – as to his whereabouts. They think that 45-year-old Glew may be camping out in woods outside the town.

Glew is 5ft 7in in height (173cm), slim, white, bearded with a moustache and receding hairline.

Last month he owned up to three criminal damage charges in Pocklington.

Humberside Police do not believe he is a danger to the public, but want anyone who knows where he is to come forward.

They can ring 101 and quote the reference number 2143295.
