Motorists in Hull are being urged not to leave any valuable items on display in their cars after 24 cases of vehicle crime were reported in just three weeks.

say several sat-navs, phones, handbags and other items worth around £3,000 have been stolen across the Beverley Ward in the north of the city since the beginning of 2015.

The offences were typically committed during the night and the areas targeted included Downfield Avenue, Evergreen Drive, Stanbury Road, Queensway, Compass Road, Welwyn Park Sutton Road and Etherington.

The North Neighbourhood Policing Team are now carrying out patrols across the Beverley Ward to help prevent any further thefts and to find those responsible for the crimes.

Officers have looked at CCTV, handed out warning letters in the affected areas and carried out house-to-house enquiries.

They are asking anyone with information about the vehicle crimes to call police on 101 or get in touch with Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
