Woman, 70, injured in robbery at home

An elderly woman was left injured after a robber barged his way into her house in Hull and made off with cash and cigarettes.

Police say the intruder pushed the 70-year-old woman into her kitchen after she challenged him as he was entering through the front door.

The woman told officers that she had gone outside to raise the alarm while the man was searching the house on Riston Street but was dragged back inside. She was left with a minor hand injury.

The robbery happened between 4.50pm and 5pm on Thursday January 15.

The man police are looking for is described as white, aged in his 30s, broadly built and about 6ft tall. He wore gloves and was dressed in a grey hooded jacket.
