A new retail park with a B&M Bargains and a Subway sandwich shop is to be built at Mount Pleasant on Holderness Road in Hull.

The new development could create 50 jobs in the city and also help to regenerate the local area.

Amanda Holmes, of Dransfield Properties, the company behind the scheme, said that with a 25,000sq ft unit, B&M would be the main shop.

She added that the other premises would be between 1,000 and 3,000sq ft.

And she also said that while Subway had been confirmed for the site, marketing was still under way for the other units.

Plans for the retail park had been shelved earlier this year but have been re-launched, with work due to begin next week.

Of the five retail units included in the development, three still need to be filled.

According to Ms Holmes and her colleagues at Dransfield Properties, there has been a good deal of interest, but no further details have been revealed.
