Roger Federer is through to the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after a 6-4 6-0 win over Tomas Berdych on Friday night.

It was a close fight in the first set, with Federer the first to get a break point opportunity in the fifth game, only for Berdych to save it with a forehand winner.

But Federer broke him in the seventh to go 4-3 up, and seemed to be into his groove from then on as he breezed through the second set.

The Swiss will face the winner of Friday’s second quarter-final, between three-time winner Rafael Nadal and sixth seed Milos Raonic, in the semis.
