James Taylor was set to take the field with five one-day international debutants as he captained England for the first time against Ireland in Dublin.

Kent batsman Sam Billings and Somerset all-rounder Lewis Gregory were the players to miss out in an unaccustomed line-up for this one-off Royal London fixture.

For Ireland, Alex Cusack came through a late fitness test on a groin injury to take his place.

Taylor won the toss and unsurprisingly chose to bowl first, under already cloudy skies with rain forecast.
