The Black Horse Little Weighton is again to host the popular Little Weighton Real Ale & Cider Festival on 10 and 11 July.

With help from local real ale enthusiasts at Ale Festival Uk, Little Weighton provides an idyllic setting for this now annual celebration of  real ale and cider. Tickets are selling fast for the opening night, with the promise of sampling fine ales and ciders whilst listening to great local music in the late July sunshine.

For this years festival, organisers are really pleased to be helping with the official launch of Great Newsome Brewery’s new craft lager named ‘Cold Snap’. This refreshing craft lager will be headlining a fantastic range of local real ales and craft ciders for people to enjoy.

Matthew from Great Newsome said:

“Cold Snap is our first venture into the craft keg market and a premium lager at that. A lager is not something I envisaged us producing eight years ago when we began, as lager had such a poor reputation among real ale drinkers. The craft beer movement has changed all that and we expect it to be well received at the Little Weighton Real Ale festival.”

James Harper Festival Organiser went on to say:

“There are some fantastic ales on offer for this festival and we have chosen a really nice summer mix to compliment the long July summers evenings, light, fruity and quaffable is what we’re aiming for. Over the last few years we have noticed a rising demand for real ciders and we don’t see this trend changing so we have made sure we have an ample amount of some of the best real ciders from the South West for people to try. The new lager from Great Newsome just adds the finishing touches to a really nice selection. For those people who have not been to the little Weighton Ale festival before, they can expect a typical British village ale festival feel with an adequate amount of ales and ciders to try, food, nice views and open-air festivities in the heart of the village.”

Festival organisers are so pleased that this years festival has been sponsored by local company Risby Homes, who’s logo will have pride of place on this years souvenir glasses.

Doors open for the festival on Friday 10 July at 6.00pm with last orders at 11.00pm. On Saturday 11, doors open at 12.00 noon and last orders are at 11.00pm. The opening Friday night is ticketed and tickets are on sale from the Black Horse, Beverley Tourist Information and online. The Saturday is simply pay on the door. Tickets are priced £4 advanced for the Friday night (£5 on the door) and £3 on the door for the Saturday.

Micaela Clegg from the Black Horse Free House said:

“It’s fantastic that the Black Horse is again hosting the Little Weighton real ale festival. We have been repeatedly asked if and when the next festival will be and it will be great to again welcome hundreds of real ale and cider fans back to Little Weighton and the Black Horse Free House. The  pub is situated in a fantastic spot with ample parking, space for the festival marquee, lots of nice outdoor seating and plenty of space inside.”

Supported by Hull favorites ‘Off the Road Productions’ who also run the Cottingham Springboard Festival, there promises to be a  full line up of music from great local bands to add to the weekends festivities – check the website for more information on the acts playing.
