Thank you to our fellow residents of Hull & East Yorkshire for adapting to the new website.

HEYToday has been live for over a week now and your response has been amazing.

We have read all your feedback, good and bad and it will be at the centre of our thoughts going forward.

During our first full week you have visited in your thousands and shown the rest of the UK that Hull & East Yorkshire can have its own website promoting local life.

The most popular articles so far have been: When The Beatles came to town – Hull’s Lynda Hill tells us all. Then we asked could Cheryl Cole sell Hull PLC?’ And we spent some time with ‘Hull’s Accidental Historian, Keith Parker.’

In our first week we also brought you stories from around the UK. Top of your click list was our tribute to Alvin Stardust who sadly passed away on Thursday age 72. We also asked Russell Brand to stop blathering on and please answer a question. Finally you have been reading all about the moment a spider dropped in on Ed Balls live on TV.

Last Friday night we were live from Hull Fair on our Twitter channel and have kept you up-to-date on Facebook. Ok our Facebook page is little low on numbers thus far so we would appreciate a like or two. Once we get more likes we will start running competitions and give-aways for you via Facebook.

One that seemed to make you laugh this week was our look at the 11 best and worst Halloween costumes but mostly the worst.

A final thank’s goes out to former Hull Daily Mail Editor and now owner of Meehan Media John Meehan who kindly tweeted:

So thanks again for visiting. We are working hard on our mission to be a local voice championing everything that’s special about the people and places of Hull & East Yorkshire.

Coming up in the next few days we will have more from Hull City, some amazing bonfire night recipes and more exclusive local content.

Got a story?

If you’ve got a story let us know, or have your say on the comments sections at the bottom of each article.

Thanks again for visiting your local website.
