Andy Murray roared with delight as he took the lead in his quarter-final match at Wimbledon.

The Scot raised his arms to the crowd on Centre Court and pumped his fist as he won a gruelling first set against Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga that lasted more than an hour.

His scream of delight was echoed by thousands of fans cheering him on from Henman Hill.

There was tension and drama on the court as Murray and Tsonga both broke each other’s serves, before Murray finally got the upper hand in a long tie-break.

David Beckham and his sons Romeo, 13, and Cruz, 11, watched the action from behind Murray’s box as the 29-year-old increased his lead, taking the second set 6-1.

Earlier, Beckham had watched Wimbledon darling Roger Federer fight back from three match points down to defeat Marin Cilic in five sets.

After the first quarter-final the former England captain was spotted chatting and laughing with Federer’s wife Mirka.

Four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper was also in Federer’s box, along with girlfriend Irina Shayk, and the actor made it clear who he was supporting as he sported a red Roger Federer hat.
