The inquest is expected to resume today into the death of the prime suspect in the murder of schoolgirl Alice Gross.

The decomposed body of convicted killer Arnis Zalkalns was found in Boston Manor Park, West London, on October 4 and was identified by dental records.

His inquest opened on October 13 and was adjourned until today’s date at West London’s Coroner’s Court.

The lifeless body of the 41-year-old from Latvia was discovered hanged in dense woodland just four days after the teenager’s body was pulled from the nearby Grand Union Canal .

Alice, a keen musician, went missing from her home in Hanwell, west London, on August 28, sparking a huge search operation that was Scotland Yard’s biggest since the aftermath of the July 7 bombings.

She was identified using dental records and a post-mortem examination proved inconclusive. Her inquest has been adjourned until January.
