Burglars have stolen four milk floats from a dairy after using one of the vehicles to smash their way through security gates.

Thames Valley Police said one of the stolen Ford Transit milk vans had been recovered in Kennington, near Oxford, and another seen in the Blackbird Leys area.

Intruders drove off in the Dairy Crest floats between 2am and 8am on Sunday after breaking into the firm’s depot in Towles Mill, Oxford, to steal keys.

All four vehicles are white with an image of a milk float on the back and a Dairy Crest logo reading Milk and More on the body.

Pc Stuart Mclaren, from Oxford Local CID, said: “Patrols of the area were carried out today, and the public should be reassured that we are doing everything we can to catch the culprits of this burglary. I would urge business owners to continue to make sure that their sites are secure, that they remain vigilant and that they report any suspicious activity to police.”
