Four teenagers have died and another has been left in a critical condition following a two-car crash.

The driver of a third vehicle, which police believe may also have been involved, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the collision in South Yorkshire, police said.

Three males and a female died when the Toyota car they were travelling in collided with a Seat vehicle on the A630 road just outside Conisbrough, near Doncaster, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Another female, who was also in the Toyota, is in a life-threatening condition in hospital after the incident, which happened in foggy conditions at around 9.40pm last night.

Police said all those in the Toyota were aged between 16 and 18.

The scene of the crash is just 100m from the location of another horror collision which left three teenagers dead on the same road three years ago.
