It is going to be Harry Potter And The Missing Words Round next month when Daniel Radcliffe presents long-running satire show Have I Got News For You.

The actor, who shot to fame playing the boy wizard in the films based on JK Rowling’s books, will take the hot seat in the first episode of the 49th series of the BBC show.

His appearance, on Friday April 10 will be followed a week later by Only Connect quizmaster Victoria Coren Mitchell.

Earlier this week, it emerged suspended Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson is set to host the show as well.

The star, currently the subject of an internal investigation after he was suspended following a “fracas” with one of the motoring show’s producers, is due to record the show in May.

Jimmy Mulville from production company Hat Trick, which makes the show, told the Broadcasting Press Guild that he thought Clarkson was “a fantastic broadcaster”.

He said: “As far as I’m concerned he is hosting Have I Got News for You, the BBC has not told me what to do yet and it will be an interesting conversation.”

He joked: “Maybe we will get the producer on so he can hit Jeremy Clarkson live on television.”

The BBC declined to comment on whether Clarkson’s suspension, if it were still in force, would cover an appearance on a separate show.
