A woman charged with attempting to use her twin sister’s passport to travel to Syria has appeared in court.

Jamila Henry, 21, spoke only to confirm her name and address when she appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

The British national was charged with being in possession of an identity document with intent, under section four of the Identity Documents Act 2010.

W earing a black hijab and pink glasses, Henry did not enter a plea.

Henry, from Waltham Forest, east London, was refused bail by District Judge Kenneth Grant.

She was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on April 7.

Her mother, sisters and a family friend were in court for the hearing.
