Paolo Nutini has postponed tonight’s gig in Glasgow after being diagnosed with tonsillitis.

The Scots singer was due to take to the stage at the SSE Hydro but is not well enough to perform.

Promoters DF Concerts said fans with tickets for the gig should hang on to them and look out for the rescheduled date.

Tomorrow’s show at the same venue is still due to go ahead as planned.

A spokeswoman for DF Concerts said: “We regret to advise that due to illness Paolo Nutini must postpone his show at the SSE Hydro arena in Glasgow tonight. Paolo has been diagnosed with severe tonsillitis and is not well enough to perform.

“Customers are advised to retain their tickets and await further information with regard to a rescheduled date which will be planned and announced as quickly as possible.

“Tomorrow night’s show is still due to go ahead as planned but fans will be informed immediately of any changes to this if they occur.

“We wish to sincerely apologise to all ticket holders for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused.”

A Twitter posing from the SSE Hydro stated: “We regret to advise that due to illness @PaoloNutini must postpone his show @TheSSEHydro tonight. Gig to be rescheduled, date TBC.”
