A man has been arrested by police investigating alleged child sex exploitation.

The 42-year-old was detained on suspicion of engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15 by Thames Valley Police today.

His arrest relates to offences allegedly committed in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, between 2005 and 2008, and is part of Operation Articulate, a Thames Valley Police investigation relating to child sexual exploitation.

A police spokesman said the man is currently in police custody.

Last month, two men appeared at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court charged with alleged sex offences committed in Aylesbury between 2005 and 2008.

Harmohan Nangpal, 40, of Langdale Drive, Hayes, Middlesex, is accused of raping a girl aged under 13, Thames Valley Police said.

A second man, Faisal Iqbal, 31, of Pixie Road, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, faces one count of conspiracy to rape a girl under 16.

Eight other men, aged between 28 and 45, have also been charged in connection with alleged child sex exploitation, the spokesman said.

They were arrested when 120 officers searched 11 properties in Buckinghamshire and Middlesex in synchronised dawn raids on September 2.
