Man in court over teenager stabbing

The trial of a man accused of stabbing to death a 14-year-old boy will begin today.

Breck Bednar, from Caterham, Surrey, was found with a neck wound at a flat in Rosebery Road in Grays, Essex, on February 17.

After his death, family members said Breck had left home after arranging to meet a friend online.

Computer engineer Lewis Daynes, 18, of Rosebery Road, Grays, has denied murder.

He will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court today where the prosecution is due to open the case against him.

Daynes has been remanded in custody.

The victim is the son of oil futures trader Barry Bednar, originally from Houston, Texas.
