Ed Miliband has told party members he has a “growing sense of confidence” about a Labour victory at the General Election.

Momentum in the campaign is behind his party, the Opposition leader insisted.

Mr Miliband was joined by Justine as he visited Norton in the Doncaster North constituency he has represented to launch his local campaign and joked he wanted to thank his wife for “putting up with me”.

Flanked by fellow Doncaster candidates Caroline Flint and Rosie Winterton in the garden of a local activist, he told supporters: “The Tories are going to throw all kinds of stuff at us in the next 30 days.

“This is a high stakes election, he added. “This is an election that matters.

“I feel a growing sense of confidence about the election. I feel the momentum is with us in this election.

“In 30 days time I believe we are going to elect a Labour government.

“I believe we are going to change the country.”
