One person in hospital amid ‘ongoing incident’ at Aberdeen school

One person has been taken to hospital after an “incident” at a secondary school in Aberdeen.

Officers were sent to Cults Academy in the west of the city at about 1.30pm.

Police Scotland confirmed they were in attendance following an incident at the school and described the incident as “ongoing”.

Sources confirmed one person had been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “There is an ongoing incident at Cults Academy. Police are in attendance.

“We received a call about 1.30pm today. Officers are still at the scene.”

No further details were available from police at this stage.

An Aberdeen City Council spokeswoman said: “We are aware of a serious incident at Cults Academy today. Police are on site.

“Due to the nature of this incident, we will not be issuing further comment.”
