Business interests for police chiefs across England and Wales can be accessed by the public from a single source for the first time.

The register of chief officers’ business interests pulls together links to forces’ information on a single page, hosted by police professional body the College of Policing.

Business interests, such as rental properties, relating to chief constables, deputy chief constables and assistant chief constables, is available.

Police forces across England and Wales provide this information on their own websites, but the College register is aimed at making it more publicly accessible.

It follows publication of the first national register of chief officer gifts and hospitality in June, and a register of chief officer pay and reward packages released in May.

Assistant chief constable Richard Bennett, College of Policing integrity programme lead, said: “The College committed itself to publishing the three registers to benefit the public, and that work is now complete.

“It will allow the public to view the business interests, pay, rewards and gifts and hospitality provided to chief officers across England and Wales.

“The information has been collated in one place for the first time and shows forces are committed to being more open and transparent.”

The information will be updated annually.
