Former chart-toppers S Club 7 are to reunite in full for the first time in more than a decade to take part in this year’s BBC Children In Need appeal.

The group – whose hits included Reach For The Stars and Don’t Stop Movin’ – will perform a medley of their best-known songs during the BBC1 charity spectacular.

S Club called it a day in 2003 after Paul Cattermole quit the line-up, although some of the members have since teamed up for small-scale shows.

Cattermole will be back in the group once more alongside Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Hannah Spearritt, and Rachel Stevens for their comeback.

The act starred in their own TV series and had a fairly successful spin-off movie alongside their chart career. At the height of their fame they achieved a number one with 2000’s official single for Children In Need and the following year they released a second single for the charity Have You Ever.

There have been rumours of a reunion for many months. Following the group’s demise, Stevens went on to have a solo career while Spearitt became a TV actress with roles in shows such as ITV’s Primeval, and Lee starred in stage musicals.

O’Meara appeared in Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, with the series prompting a huge number of complaints to Ofcom over racist remarks made to another contestant Shilpa Shetty.

In a statement, S Club 7 said: “We’re massive fans of BBC Children in Need and it was great to be able to support the charity all those years ago. We’re really looking forward to bringing it all back for Pudsey, for BBC Children In Need and for all our fans who have been so great over the years. This is going to be the mega S Club party of all time.”
