Three men who were arrested three days before Remembrance Sunday have been charged over an alleged terror plot.

Nadir Ali Sayed, 21, from Hounslow, west London, Yousaf Shah Syed, 19, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and Haseeb Hamayoon, 27, from Hayes, west London were held on November 6.

Scotland Yard said today that the three men have been charged.

It is said that “with the intention of committing acts of terrorism” they were “jointly engaged in conduct in preparation for giving effect to their intention, contrary to section 5(1) of the Terrorism Act 2006”.

All three will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ court later today.

A fourth man arrested in Uxbridge was released on November 15 with no further action.

The charges came a week after police were granted a further seven days to question the suspects, and a fortnight after they were first arrested.

Those arrested under the Terrorism Act can be held without charge for a maximum of 14 days.
