Christmas Day without Only Fools and Horses would not be the same for many of us. But with the show in its 11th season of re-runs, and no new filming planned, executives have axed it from the main BBC channels this Christmas.

Del, Rodney, Grandad, Uncle Albert and their extended family & friends have been entertaining us for over 30 years. Their adventures even brought them up here to Hull in one unforgettable episode.

So, with the prospect of the very end of one of our greatest ever TV shows, here’s a look back at 5 of the best moments from 64 episodes over 7 series.

1. The Bar Fall

Let’s just get this one out the way. In 2003, readers of the Radio Times voted this the all-time comedy TV moment of the 20th Century. That’s a hard accolade to beat.

2. Inflatable Dolls

What do you do with a faulty one? Or with 50 faulty ones when they self inflate? “What’s that noise Rodney?”

3. If it’s a boy, they’re naming it Rodney

“Alright Dave, their calling it Rodney – who after?”…”After me Trigg”

4. Nervous Nerys – Rodney jumps the 3-wheeler

“Don’t worry Nerys, I’m a pro”

5. Chandeliers

“Now then Grandad, you pop upstairs and get the floor boards up, now you know what you’re doing don’t you?”
