Greece’s prime minister is heading to Brussels for another meeting with the leaders of Germany and France, hoping for a breakthrough in bailout talks that have revived fears his country could default and drop out of the euro.

Alexis Tsipras is to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whose country is the largest contributor to Greece’s bailout, and French President Francois Hollande on the sidelines of a European Union-Latin America summit.

Greece has three weeks to conclude a deal with its creditors before its bailout program expires. It is trying to get creditors to pay the last rescue loans from that plan, without which Greece cannot finance itself.

Each side has submitted proposals for a deal. Athens says it has received no response to its latest suggestions.
