Pakistan hits back after massacre

Pakistani forces have killed 32 militants in an ambush in the country’s rugged north west, days after the Taliban school massacre which left nearly 150 people dead.

The military said the militants were moving through the Tirah Valley of the Khyber region to the border with Afghanistan when they were targeted by Pakistani forces. T hree service members were wounded in the incident.

Today’s strike follows an earlier announcement by the military that it killed 27 militants in air raids and ground operations in the Khyber area.

On Tuesday 148 people, most of them children, were murdered in a military-run school in Peshawar by Taliban fanatics.
