A man suspected of killing four people in separate shootings has been found dead with what police said was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Jody Hunt, 39, of Westover, West Virginia, was found in the woods in the southern part of Monongalia County.

State police spokesman Lieutenant Dennis Johnson said his body was found in “a power line right of way” at around 7pm local time.

Hunt was wanted for two shootings in the Westover area and the other on the same day in the Cheat Lake area in Monongalia County.

Investigators at each of the three crime scenes would “sit down and piece all those puzzle pieces together and find out how this all happened”, Lt Michael Baylous said today.

State documents indicate Hunt owned a firm called J&J Towing and Repair.

The two victims from the Cheat Lake shooting were identified as Sharon Berkshire, 39, and Michael Frum, 28.

Ms Berkshire filed a domestic violence case against Hunt last month, according to court records.

Mr Frum’s aunt, Ellen Shafer, said she knew few details about her nephew’s death. She said he valeted cars and did building work and other odd jobs.
