A man and a woman have been taken into custody after G erman police carried out an anti-terror raid.

Hesse state police spokesman Udo Buehler said the raid took place overnight in the town of Oberursel.

A home and a vehicle were searched and two people were arrested. Mr Buehler had no information about their ages or any other details.

Heavily-armed police wearing masks were involved in the overnight raid, and forensic officers in white suits entered the property and later removed evidence.

Mr Buehler said he could not confirm reports by German newspaper Die Welt that a pipe bomb, an assault rifle and ammunition were found.
