Two trains have crashed in Switzerland, with reports of injuries.

The subway train and high-speed train on its way from Zurich to Stuttgart are reported to have collided in the town of Rafz, around 19 miles north of Zurich.

Witnesses said the train hit the subway carriages from behind.

It is not immediately clear how serious the accident is. Photographs from the scene showed train cars that had been knocked off the tracks, but not overturned.

Police spokeswoman Cornelia Schuoler said the accident in the town north of Zurich, near the German border, caused multiple injuries.
