One of the World Trade Centre window cleaners left dangling for over an hour from the nation’s highest building has said he is willing to go back to the job.

However, his colleague said working on the ground might be better.

Juan Lizama and Juan Lopez spoke about their harrowing rescue from 1 World Trade Centre.

Mr Lopez, who is now contemplating less lofty jobs, said he panicked at first. But once he saw firefighters he knew it “was just a matter of time” before a rescue.

On Wednesday, a cable loosened, plunging their scaffold into an almost vertical position 68 stories up.

Mr Lizama said he and Mr Lopez have always been safety conscious and had checked their equipment.

Firefighters used diamond cutters to saw through a double-layered window and pulled the men to safety.
